Author Profile: Danielle Steel

Why I love her: I’ve been a fan of Danielle Steel for many years. Although her books are often fluffy and predictable, I can’t help but love them. I can go years without reading her books, and then when I do, it’s like meeting up with an old friend.

Residence: San Francisco/Paris

Fun Facts: Danielle has 9 children, released her 108th book in June 2009 and has over 580 million books currently in print. Twenty One of her books have been adapted to television, and one or more of her books have been on the best sellers list for 390 consecutive weeks. She still writes every book on a typewriter claiming that computers are “not her style.” Danielle also gives generously each year to benefit those with mental illness (one of her sons committed suicide due to bipolar disorder) and also to the homeless.
